Description

House; dated 1845-46. Small near symmetrical shooting
lodge. 2-storey, 3-bay with projecting outer bays forming
U-plan SE facing re-entrant court. Grey rubble, tooled
rubble dressings. Main entrance in centre SW elevation now
blocked; 2 present doors under small lean-to porch against
SE centre bay. Some 1st floor windows rise through wallhead
into finialled gablets; taller ground floor windows;
lying-pane glazing with heavy centre mullion
to all sasheds; drip moulds to all windows and doorways;
shaped skewputts; stone ball apex finials; symmetrical
ridge stacks with heavy copes; slate roof.
Game larder; small square game larder rubble as house with
centre door in NE elevation. Pyramidal slate roof with
centre apex louvred cupola; 8-pane gabled dormers in
each roof facet.
Steading; simple single storey, L-plan rubble steading with
stables, byre and gig-house. Slate roof.

Statement of Interest

Gobernuisgach now forms part of the Westminster Estate,

Lochmore, by Lairg. Date on S skewputt very worn.
