Description

Probably William Leiper, alterations and additions to
earlier building, circa 1885. Asymmetrical 2-storey house
with single storey school adjoining east gable. All harl
pointed rubble with tooled rubble dressings.
House; centre door masked by tall projecting gabled porch
with timber frame detailing and multi-pane glazing to door
and side lights. To west canted bay window rises full height
terminating in facetted slate roof. Walling between ground
and 1st floor window breaks eaves under shallow swept
dormer.
Single storey, 2-bay wing to west gable linking school.
School; single storey wide gabled, school room linked to
house at east, and with gabled porch with front entrance and
double leaf plank door in centre of east elevation. Large
centre 2-light window in south gable under tile hung
canopy. Varied glazing to both buildings; some decorative
lattice pane glazing survives in bay windows of schoolhouse;
end stacks; slate roofs with projecting eaves and with
decorative tile ridge to school; pottery finials throughout.
Single storey, 2-bay rubble outbuilding in garden to
east; slate roof, tile ridge.
