Dated 1887 with later repairs. 2-arch bridge spanning Whiteadder Water. Pointed rubble bridge with tooled and polished cream sandstone dressings. Polished voussoirs to segmental-arches; rubble abutments; rubble soffits; central piers with curved cutwater buttresses; paired pilasters advanced to outer ends (tooled quoins). Dated panels centred in spandrels beneath polished string courses marking flat deck; polished coping to parapet walls (splayed at either end).
A simple, well detailed bridge which plays a significant role in the surrounding landscape. The polished parapet coping indicates recent repair (1997). Scottish Borders Council refers to the bridge as No 4020 on the B6355. See separate list entry for the nearby Ellemford Bridge.
