The war memorial in Stogursey was constructed circa 1920-4, to commemorate the 24 Fallen of the village. After the Second World War, the names of the two men who had died were added to the inscriptions.
The war memorial in Stogursey is listed at Grade II for the following principal reasons:
* Historic interest: as an eloquent witness to the tragic impact of world events on the local community, and the sacrifice it made in the conflicts of the C20;
* Architectural interest: a sombre but elegant memorial, well made and with good inscriptions;
* Group value: with the listed buildings which it stands opposite, on the north side of the High Street.
