MATERIALS: limestone.
DESCRIPTION: a four-tiered octagonal base is surmounted by a square plinth with chamfered corners. It is topped by a wheel cross on a tall shaft. The cross is decorated with a Sword Of Sacrifice carved in relief. An inscription on the north-east face of the plinth reads, ‘TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN MEMORY OF/ THE OFFICERS AND MEN/ FROM THIS PARISH/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 - 1919/ THEIR NAMES LIVETH/ FOR EVERMORE/ ECCLESIASTICUS XLIV 14. The names of 27 members of the parish who died in the First World War are inscribed on the other faces of the plinth. Four names of those who died in Second World War and the dates of the conflict are inscribed on the base’s top tier. A further name on this tier commemorates a member of the Royal Air Force who died in Cyprus (1956).

The memorial was unveiled and dedicated on 11 November 1920 to commemorate the members of the parish of North Cadbury who died during the First World War. Further names were added following the end of the Second World War and to commemorate the fallen of later C20 conflicts. Following a programme of restoration work the memorial was re-dedicated on 11 November 2011.
The North Cadbury War Memorial is listed at Grade II for the following principal reasons:
* Historic interest: as an eloquent witness to the tragic impact of world events on the local community, and the sacrifice it made in the conflicts of the C20;
* Architectural interest: an elegant memorial with good quality carved detailing;
* Group value: it forms part of a good group of listed structures including the church of St. Michael (Grade I) and the listed tombs within the churchyard (all listed Grade II).
