MATERIALS & PLAN: the structure is of red brick with stone coping. The bridge is carried on three arches, with cutwaters.
Upstream and downstream sides are similar, possessing cutwaters with hipped tops bearing three arches with voussoirs formed of brick headers. A projecting brick band with chamfered top divides the lower body of the bridge from the parapet, which is also of brick with large stone blocks forming the coping which is flush with the brick walls. Wing walls at either end are angled.
A C19 road bridge, which appears to have had repairs to its parapet, but is in largely original condition.
Frome Bridge, near Woodsford, West Dorset, a road bridge of the C19, is listed at Grade II for the following principal reasons:
* Intact survival: the bridge has suffered little alteration since it was built;
* Architectural quality: the bridge has an elegant presence and also fits well within its setting.
