A gazebo consisting of an C18 facade re-erected in 1961 by Didier Bertrand.
MATERIALS: ashlar and rubble.
PLAN: a small square structure
EXTERIOR: the facade has an oculus with four keystones each side of an arched central bay with Serlian columns to an entablature with a triglyph frieze and modillion cornice and blocking. Returns and back in rubble.
The C18 facade was re-erected here having been moved from its original location in Fairford, Gloucestershire in 1961. It replaced an earlier structure that stood in this location in the late C19.
* Architectural interest: despite its relocation, the retained C18 facade continues to display good quality architectural detailing;
* Group value: it takes a key position in the garden of Widcombe Manor included on the Register of Parks and Gardens at Grade II, and forms an interesting and important group with the Grade I listed Widcombe Manor and the other Grade II listed features in the garden.
