House, formerly ticket office and house for Kennet and Avon canal, built on sloping canal side site. Early/mid C19 with C20 alterations.
MATERIALS: Rough limestone ashlar, double Roman tile roof with moulded stack to central coped wall.
EXTERIOR: Two adjoining blocks, each of two storeys, with single window to street front. Southernmost (left-hand) block, slightly higher, was originally house: rubblestone walls with coloured leaded glass to one central window to first floor. Rear symmetrical two-window range with sliding louvred shutters to plate glass sash windows flanking C20 door under hood on shaped stone brackets. Northern block, to right, has plate glass sash window to first floor left and C20 door to right with C20 circular window to left of it. Rear has two C20 windows and porch.
INTERIOR: Not inspected but noted as having fittings and raised gallery.
