Houses in informal terrace. Late C18/early C19 (first rating in street in 1794).
MATERIALS: Painted Bath limestone ashlar, with Welsh slate roofs.
PLAN: Double depth double fronted plan with central entrance.
EXTERIOR: Two storeys and attic, three-bays wide. Platband at first floor sill level, each house has stepped slightly up. No.8 has six/six sashes in plain surrounds, first floor windows with wrought iron grilles. six-panel door with small flat hood on brackets. Cornice string, parapet, mansard roof with two dormers, single to left with top hinged light, triple to right with central top hinged light, both modern with small panes. Shared ashlar and rendered stack on left of ridge. No.9 as No.8 except that windows are two/two sashes on ground floor and plain with dropped sills on first floor. Dormers are single plain and paired plain sashes. Shared ashlar and render stacks at each end of ridge, only some pots survive. No.10 as No.9 but with two three-light Victorian flat-topped dormers. Shared stacks with pots at either end of ridge.
Rear elevation not seen.
