Irregular terrace house, now shop, stepped forward from adjacent buildings. Probably H.E. Goodridge, c1827-30 (lease of No.4 sold 8th October 1831); altered c1900.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, roof unseen, stacks to party walls.
PLAN: Double depth plan.
EXTERIOR: Four storeys including an attic storey. One window wide. Coped parapet, cornice and cornice band to attic storey, second floor cornice and cornice band forming as lintel band to second floor. Margin panes to tripartite windows, three/three pane sash to attic, six/six pane sash with panelled mullions and apron to second floor, six/nine pane sash with panelled mullions to first floor. c1900 shop with set back central door.
INTERIOR: Inspected by Bath Council 1987. One timber stair with Doric newel, first floor green/black/white/grey marble fireplace with glazed arched cupboards either side and early Victorian console fireplace with low cupboards either side in back room. No. 2 similar stairs, stone fireplace and regency hob in rear room.
HISTORY: This building, part of the Late Georgian Cleveland Place and Bridge development of the Bathwick Estate, contained a shop from the outset.
