GV II
Two end terrace houses, now shops. Early C19 with late C19 alterations.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, double Roman tile roof.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys and basement, revealed at rear as full four storeys, each one window, sixteen-pane sashes to No.24, and plain to No.25, above full width shopfronts. No.24 has pilaster late C19 front with deep fascia and cornice, with panelled house door to shallow transom light to left, original glazed door in display front. No.25 has later shopfront, also panelled house door to left. No.24 has, above first floor, lintel with frieze, under cornice with blocking course and parapet run full width of both properties, each has deep stacks to right. To rear No.24 has three twelve-pane and two plain sashes, and small two storey lean-to with double Roman tiles. No.25 has plain sashes, and a long added wing. Cavetto cornice above first floor, and cavetto cornice with blocking course and parapet to second floor.
INTERIORS: Not inspected. This pair was probably at the end of a terrace of six houses originally, two storeys high (see Nos 22 and 23 adjoining, qv), but subsequent modifications have destroyed their unity.
