Workshop, former Mill or warehouse. Mid C18.
MATERIALS: Painted limestone rubble with Bath Stone dressings under a Welsh slate roof.
PLAN: Rectangular plan with large open space on ground floor and offices above.
EXRERIOR: Front elevation is of three storeys and four bays. Ground floor has a large modern opening below a string course which incorporates the entablature of a former door case; fascia and cornice survive. First floor has four six over six modern windows set in plain architraves. Second floor has four three over three modern windows set in plain architraves with a modillion cornice above. South gable elevation is plain except for coping and an elaborate Venetian window with stepped keystone, bold mullions and pronounced cornice and entablature. Fixed light multi-paned window set within. North gable is coped with a rendered axial stack.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
HISTORY: A former mill or warehouse associated with John Wood¿s `Lower Town¿, built for Ralph Allen.
