House, formerly public house, probably remodelling of early C18 house. Early C19 with C20 alterations.
MATERIALS: Painted render over brick, double pitched pantile roof with moulded stacks to party walls, truncated to right.
PLAN: Double depth plan.
EXTERIOR: Two storeys, three-window range. Coped parapet rises at returns to meet stacks, hipped asbestos roof of deep canopy to first floor supported on cast iron trellised columns fronted by plain railings with lead ball ornaments, floor supported on four Tuscan columns. C20 French windows to first floor, ground floor, with clasping Tuscan pilaster to quoins has splayed reveals to two/two-pane sash windows flanking door with four glazed panels to top and roundels to base.
INTERIOR: Not inspected but noted as being altered.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: Attached to right and extending forward brick lined rubblestone wall approx 3m high and 20m long that curves round and ramps down to meet chamfered rusticated gatepiers approx 3m high with wrought iron overthrow support to former inn sign. Wall continues downhill to left to meet wall attached to Strumble Cottage (qv).
