Also known as: The Clock House CLAVERTON DOWN ROAD. Farmhouse. c1700, with mainly C19 fenestration.
MATERIALS: Limestone coursed rubble,`syncopated' Roman tile roof.
PLAN: Long single depth gabled range, with very short return wing at south end, attached to barn (qv).
EXTERIOR: Two storeys. Garden front has three nine-pane over three twelve-pane sashes, all to segmental heads, and, between bays one and two, porch with coped gable on pair of panelled doors. To right are two blocked oculi at first floor, and small slated lean-to to far right. Coped gable has ashlar stack, and contains one six-pane light. Two further ridge stacks, and one to coped left gable. Return front has small two-light casement to attic, above twelve-pane sashes, and short wing, with concrete tile roof, has two-light casement. Courtyard front has complex fenestration, including four two-light stone-mullioned casements, two of these also with transom, members all with edge beading. First floor also two nine-pane sashes, flanking clock-face, and ground floor has two large twelve-pane, and, towards left, panelled door under transoms light. Sashes set to segmental heads. Moulded string at first floor, full width except for first bay, and central ridge stack has small bell-cote. Short return wing has lean-to glazed addition at lower level.
INTERIOR: Not inspected, but mainly later detailing. The farmhouse forms one side of a courtyard group.
