EXTERIOR: Ashlar fronted three storey houses. No. 8 has a fluted frieze with cavetto cornice over to parapet. No. 9 (Hop Pole) has a plain cornice and aluminium replacement windows to first floor. It has been enlarged to the right, with a double pitch roofed extension of mid-C19 date.
INTERIOR: That of No. 8 not inspected. That of the Hop Pole public house has been substantially altered and is largely modern.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: Front wall to No. 8 with gate piers of rusticated masonry.
HISTORY: A pair of houses forming the westernmost limit of Bath¿s C18 expansion.
