Block of flats. 1974-6 by Ralph Erskine's Arkitektkontor; site architect Vernon Gracie; structural engineer, White, Young and Partners; main contractor, Shepherd Construction. Pale metric modular brick, with internal block work frame, and green timber balconies. Long sloping blue metal roofs supported on plywood box beam purlins. Two-four storeys on `L'-shaped plan. Timber windows with aluminium opening lights and red doors. Attached porch and garages to meeting hall. Interiors not inspected. The Chevron is a prominent feature, and marks the boundary between the Kendal Street and Gordon Road parts of the Byker estate.
