House with integral shop. Early nineteenth century. Red brick in Flemish bond with shallow hipped slate roof and square lateral chimneystack. two-bay lobby-entry house with additional bay to right that has integral ground floor shop.
EXTERIOR: House to left has central entrance with six-panel door flanked by eight-over-eight paned sash windows without horns under cambered brick arches. three similar windows to first floor, directly below eaves. Ground floor right has twelve-pane curved bow window advanced with narrow side lights, and groove to underside of fascia with moulded cornice, all set on projecting cill. To right, shop door with six small panes to top. Traces of painted advertising for a draper above ground floor shop.
INTERIOR: Not inspected
Group value with the adjacent No.7 as well as other buildings on The Square.
