Estate office and adjoining tower. Mid C18, altered C19 and
C20.
MATERIALS: red brick in Flemish bond. Old tile hipped roof.
PLAN: rectangular plan with square tower and single storey
projections on west side.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Small rendered plinth, brick dentilled
eaves. 2-light, C18 leaded casement windows with segmental
brick arched heads.
East front has 4-bays. C18 leaded windows in 1st and 3rd bays,
plain wooden planked doors in wide box frames in 3nd and 4th
bays. Wide planked door with 3 glazed panels in top and with
long strap hinges in ground floor 2nd bay. Clock on south-east
corner, just below eaves level, probably C19 with elaborate
iron, scrolled brackets and an iron clock face decorated with
an acanthus leaf in each corner.
Tower has 2 stages. Pyramidal roof surmounted by small
bellcote with open arched sides, lead ogee roof with ball
finial. Tower plain except for small plank door in 2nd stage
and 2-light window in first stage at ground floor level. Both
have segmental brick arches.
INTERIORS: not inspected.
Link block (qv) adjoins the Estate Office and tower on east
and wall with gates (qv with the stables) adjoin the Estate
Office and tower on the west. The Estate Office and tower form
the north side (in part) of a stone paved and cobbled stable
yard.
