EASTHAMPSTEAD.
Former stable block to original house at Easthampstead Park,
which was rebuilt in 1860 and is now known as Easthampstead
Park College (qv). Now 3 houses. Early C18, altered mid C20.
MATERIALS: painted brick, large high pitched, hipped, old tile
roof.
PLAN: long rectangular plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attics. One chimney on left near
ridge with clay pot. Hexagonal bellcote in centre of roof with
ogee cap and weathervane, clock in base. High, weathered
plinth, deep, moulded and modillioned eaves cornice. 4 roof
dormers with casement windows and small hipped roofs. Some
sash windows with glazing bars, some casement windows, all
C20. Entrance front: irregular. Centre section of 5 sash
windows on first floor, 2 on ground floor. 2 lunette windows
on eather side at first floor and casement windows beyond
these. Other sash windows and casement windows on ground
floor, with three C20 panelled doors in Georgian style cases.
Three C20 garage doors between.
