Workshop and cartshed, now storage and garage. C19.
MATERIALS: Timber frame with part tarred, part painted wide
elm boarding. Very wide slate gabled roof over workshop, small
similar roof over cartshed.
PLAN: Rectangular plan of 3 framed bays with aisles on each
side; 2 framed bay cartshed adjoining at right angles on
south-east.
EXTERIOR: Single storey. Entrance (south-east) front: large
window of 5-lights on upper level with stout mullions and
delicate horizontal and vertical glazing bars forming grid
pattern. Each pane of glass lapped over the lower. 2 sets of
large planked doors on lower level with two 2-light windows
between and small planked door on left. Cartshed projects at
left.
INTERIOR: queen post roof, 2 sets of clasped side purlins.
Long arch braces to beams and plates with struts forming
pattern similar to spokes of wheel. Cartshed has similar ties
and struts on open north-east front.
