BINFIELD

Barn, now used for domestic storage. Early C18, altered C20.
Timber frame, weatherboarded, east gable wall of brick; old
tile gabled roof.
MATERIALS: Brick plinth in part English bond and part Flemish
bond.
PLAN: Rectangular plan of 4 framed bays, with gabled midstrey
in second bay.
EXTERIOR: Right hand bay floored over to provide hay loft with
staircase, access at end of fourth bay. South front (facing
the house): Pair of C20 garage doors to midstrey. Plank door
at upper level on right of midstrey. 2 small windows with
glazing bars below with stable door between. Small plank door
on right hand end giving access to staircase.
INTERIOR: many timbers renewed. Queen post roof with clasped
purlins, curved knee braces to tie beams.
