Pair of large semi-detached houses. Designed by J Leonard Williams in Domestic Revival style. Roughcast with timberframing to first floor and end gables. Tiled roof with 6 roughcast chimneystacks with brick tops. Two storeys: 6,4 windows. Leaded light casements.
EXTERIOR:Centre has three-light casements to first floor and multi-light casements incorporating French windows to ground floor. Ends have projecting gables with carved bargeboards, two three-light oriels to first floor and multi-light casements to ground floor. Doorcases in side elevations with flat hoods and hipped tiled hoods. Projecting gabled wings to rear.
INTERIOR: No 55 has front room with panelled overmantel, bolection-moulded fireplace and tiled surround. Rear room has moulded cornice to fireplace and tiled surround and central room has similar tiled fireplace. Staircase/hall has painted wooden dogleg staircase with square balusters and square newel posts, fireplace and several plank doors. Interior of no 54 not inspected but likely to be similar.
