Shop and workrooms. Designed in 1898 by G H Gray, agent to the Bexhill estate of the De La Warr family in Queen Anne style as a tailor's shop with workrooms above. Built of red brick and stucco with slate roof. Three storeys and attic: one window.
EXTERIOR: Att ic floor has a round-headed window in curved gable with Gibbs surround, ball finials and console brackets with acorn finials. Skylights light workroom. First and second floors have a canted bay window. Second floor has four-light window with wooden sashes with horns, stuccoed cornice and plinth. First floor has window with cambered architraves, alternate blocks of brick and stucco and stuccoed keystones. Brick and stuccoed pilasters through second to first floors. Original shopfront has fascia with dentil cornice and swansneck pediments at ends. Cast iron cresting and pilasters with strapwork decoration and swag panels. There is a curved shopfront with pilasters, wooden panelled risers and curved wooden panel with name of the shop. The door also has a swansneck pediment and fanlight. To the right side is a panelled ceiling, tilework and panelling. There is coloured engraved glass with floral decoration below the fascia.
INTERIOR: One long wall retains original wooden shelves with moulded arch, two pilasters and shelves with brass handles. A fretted wooden arch leads to two original fitting rooms with original joinery including elaborate panel over doors, doors with engraved glass panels, built-in mirrors and original inter-com system.
