II

House. Late C16/early C17 probably with earlier origins. Rendered timber-frame with wattle and daub infill and brick covered south wall. Steeply pitched slate roof and right ridge and left end stacks. 3-unit lobby-entry plan. Single storey and attic. 3 C20 casements with 6-panel door to centre right in front of stack. 3 2-light gabled dormers over. Lean-to on left end with tiny window over. Further casements, lean-to and door within porch to rear.
INTERIOR Close-studded framing visible in all 3 units with massive jowled posts and curved bracing. Chamfered bridging beams. Timber-framed partitions. Roof plastered in but steep pitch suggests early roof is likely to survive. Large stack has later fireplace and oven set into a larger blocked fireplace. Plank and panelled doors. Diamond-mullioned window partly visible on first floor in south-east room. There is some evidence to suggest that the stack may have been an insertion and the northern unit earlier with the lobby-entry and southern unit rebuilt in the late C16/early C17.
A house which retains much of the late C16/early C17 or earlier.
