Terrace of 7 houses, some converted to flats. c1700 with early
C19 alterations. Brown brick in English bond, ashlar
dressings, steeply pitched hipped pantile roof with 4 large
ridge stacks.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys plus cellar, palace front of 18 bays, the
central 6 bays slightly advanced. Plinth with ashlar sill
band. Full height pilasters divide the bays and are linked by
segmental arches with keystones. Corbelled and dentilled eaves
course, moulded cornice to lead wall head gutter. All doors
are reached up 4 stone steps.
Openings generally have segmental heads and keystones. At the
centre are 2 sashes flanked by a single doorway and further
sash. Both doorways have semi-circular heads and traceried
fanlights. The door to the right has 2 narrow leaves. Beyond
to the right are 2 blank bays and a 2-leaf door with
overlight, flanked by a single sash and a blank end bay.
Beyond to the left is a blank bay, a door with an overlight, a
single sash, and further blank bay with blocked segmental
arch, a single sash and doorway. Above the window bays, to the
upper floors, are 8 sashes, those to the 2nd floor are
smaller. All sashes are glazing bar with segmental heads. The
pilastered treatment continues around the sides and rear.
To the rear are single-storey kitchen blocks, further sashes,
Yorkshire sliding sashes and modern inserted openings.
INTERIOR: retains corner fireplace positions, panelled doors,
contemporary roof construction with braced posts.
