Former vicarage, now offices. 1879. By William Watkins of
Lincoln for the Rev. F W Blenkin. Queen Anne Revival style.
Red brick and tile hanging with a hipped plain tile roof and 4
tall decorated brick stacks.
EXTERIOR: first floor dentilled brick band, white plaster
coved eaves. 2 storeys plus attics.
Irregular west front, 4 bays, has an off-centre doorway with
pedimented brick surround and panelled door. To the right, a
large external stack which rises through the jettied and tile
hung upper floor, and continues through a hipped dormer above.
To the left, a large round headed stair window with small
glazing bars. Beyond, a recessed section with a small window
and 2 arches supporting a sleeping-balcony and balustrade,
with 2 sashes. Beyond, 3 boarded sashes and above, a canted
3-light oriel window with sashes.
South front has to the left a 4-light canted bay window with
above, a tile hung section with 3 casements, the central one
to the floor, with glazed doors. To the right, a 2 storey
3-light canted bay window with hipped roof, cross casements
and keystones to the upper windows. Above, a single hipped
dormer with tile hung cheeks.
East front has a 3 window canted bay with 2 boarded windows to
the right, and a single window above with a keystone. Above, 2
hipped dormers both with tile hung cheeks.
Beyond, the irregularly fenestrated service wing has a small
porthole and a tall stair light.
INTERIOR retains its staircase and pierced screen, plus upper
plaster barrel vaulted ceiling. Single ground floor fireplace,
doors and skirting.
