House. Late C16, with mid C17 and mid C19 alterations.
Restored 1990-91. Coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings
and rebuilt brick gable. Steep pitched pantile roof with a
gable stack. Quoins.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys plus attics; 2 window range of 12-pane
sashes. Above again, 2 segment headed lead covered box
dormers. Central door with 6 fielded panels and wooden
surround with pilasters and cornice. All the joinery except
the door renewed c1990. Coped left gable with brick kneelers.
On the first floor, a C19 canted oriel window with lead roof
and brick base.
INTERIOR has a central passage, flanked to left by a living
room with moulded cornice and cased spine beam. Mid C19
moulded wood surround to corner fireplace. Kitchen, to right,
has a cased spine beam carried on a chamfered square post, and
an early C19 cupboard. Wooden winder stair, 2 flights, with
matchboard panelling below, and a renewed balustrade with
turned newel on the first floor. Upper flight has square
newels and stick balusters. Left first floor room has a wavy
edged spine beam and a mid C19 slate corner fireplace. Right
room has a late C18 2-panel door. Attics have gypsum plaster
floors and 2 plank doors.
