Includes: Former lodge to Watermillock SEYMOUR ROAD.
Lodge to Watermillock, Crompton Way (qv). 1880. JJ Bradshaw
and John Gass, architects. Coursed tooled rubble with graded
green slate roof.
EXTERIOR AND PLAN: one-and-a-half storeys. T-plan with C20
extension to rear. Entrance loggia of 2 bays, with segmentally
arched arcade with low piers and rich foliate capitals and
spandrels; parapet with coping. Gabled dormer above, with
overhanging eaves and finial. To the right the storey curved
end bay of the wing, with 5-light dressed stone mullioned
windows with leaded panes to each floor; deeply overhanging
conical roof with finial.
Side elevation to Crompton Way with deep eaves broken by
gabled dormer to the left and massive external stack with 3
shaped shafts; single-light ground-floor windows to either
side.
Left end with gabled 2-light dormer (with coved stone to
gable-wall); 2 and 3-light windows below.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
