Terrace of 19 houses, now in commercial use. c1820. Brick with
slate roof. Apparently built as a single phase, to a common
plan but with variable detail.
EXTERIOR AND PLAN: 2 storeys, 38-window range. Nos 62-80 have
segmentally arched doorways with recessed architraves with
fluted shafts and plain fanlights, panelled doors largely
renewed; canted bay windows with sash windows with curved
heads (some renewed); 12-pane sash windows above, some renewed
in original openings with wide splayed brick heads.
Full-height canted bay window to No.68. Moulded eaves cornice
(renewed to Nos 62-70).
Nos 44-60 forms same build, but is of less height. Similar
details, though paired doorways to Nos 44-46, and bay windows
in 6 houses only. Doors with 8 fielded panels, in recessed
architraves with reeded pilasters and fanlights, retaining
wrought-iron tracery in Nos 50 & 56.
Flat entablature and overlight (renewed) over paired doors of
Nos 44 & 46. 12-pane sash windows to ground and first floors,
many renewed in original openings with wide splayed heads. End
wall stacks, set to front and rear of ridge line.
