Terrace of five houses with some under dwellings (now integrated). c1830. Coursed and squared stone with slate roof.
EXTERIOR AND PLAN: two storeys and basement to part of row to west (front) elevation, three and four storeys to rear on steeply sloping site. Ten window range comprising five single unit, double pile planned dwellings. Houses face east, and principal doorways have moulded architraves with entablature hood; most windows renewed in original openings with flat arched heads. Some inserted windows towards the centre of the terrace. No.51 has basement to west, and stone terrace with cast-iron railings at ground-floor level. Ridge chimneys, but chimneys removed from most dwellings.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
The terrace forms part of the model village of Barrow Bridge, established c1831 by Robert Gardner, to serve the adjacent Dean Mills complex, which he also built.
