Pair of houses and attached area railings to No.77. Numbered
right to left, described left to right. No.79: 1808; No.77:
1815. Ashlar over brick with concealed roofs, central brick
stacks; iron window boxes and porch.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and basement, 4 first-floor windows (2:2).
Ashlar details include first- and second-floor bands, tooled
architraves to left to ground and first floors; frieze and
cornice remains at right (missing to left). Basement, ground
and first floors have tall 6/6 sashes; second floor has 3/3
sashes; all in plain reveals, sills (with feet to ground and
first floors. Basement has 3/3 replacement sashes. End
entrances have roll-edged steps to part-glazed 4-panel doors
with fanlights, that to right has batwing and circle type
glazing bars; tooled round-arch to head at left. Archway at
left abuts No.81 (qv).
INTERIOR: No.77 has embellished friezes, dogleg staircase with
stick balusters and wreathed handrail, otherwise not
inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: first floor has window guards with rails
to right and circular motif to left. Porch at right has tent
roof and openwork frieze. Area railings at right have bars and
dogbars with spear heads.
