House on corner. c1800. Red brick in Flemish bond. Plain tile
roof with brick dogtooth eaves and brick external stacks.
Central staircase plan.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellar; 3-window range. On 1st floor:
two 8/8 sashes flanking central 6/6 sash, all boxed and with
painted channelled voussoirs, keystones and sills. Similar
smaller 4/4 sashes flanking 3/3 sash above. Ground floor has
similar 8/8 sashes flanking central doorcase which has
Classical architrave with Doric pilasters and open pediment,
Gothick-traceried fanlight, 4-panel door, and stone step.
Painted plinth courses, on right broken by cellar grille.
Firemark. Left return: gable verge raised to top of stack;
gabled wing with dentilled eaves; 6/6 sashes, two with
segmental heads; part-renewed external end stack; and further
rear extensions.
INTERIOR: has central staircase with stick balusters; moulded
doorcases; panelled doors; and grey marble fireplace.
HISTORICAL NOTE: built together with Nos 9 & 11 (qv) following
site clearance in 1809, the whole a going concern by 1820.
