House. Probably early C19. Possibly by Jacob Owen. Welsh slate
hipped roof, rendered stack to left and right. 2 storeys, 3
bays. At centre, door of 3 moulded panels with fanlight,
flanking pilasters and jambs with rope moulding to arrises,
moulded pedimented dripstone over with rounded corners and
stops, 4 steps approach with flanking moulded stucco
balustrade; 4-pane 2-light casement on each side of door with
bracketed sillband and aprons, dripstone over each window
rounded at corners and stops, jambs and hood have rope
moulding. 3 similar first-floor windows without dripstones and
aprons. Returns blind with first-floor sillband continuing,
projecting bracketed eaves. Rear has central C20 entrance with
2 flanking 24-pane sashes and 2 above set under cambered
arches. Jacob Owen, father of the more famous TE Owen, was a
surveyor with the Royal Engineers.
