The Ice House at Harewood Park
II
Icehouse. c1760, restored late C20. Probably designed by John Carr of York for Edwin Lascelles. Ashlar sandstone with brick lining. Circular stone wall with ashlar coping and domed roof. Brick entrance passage with rounded roof. INTERIOR: Deep, brick lined cylindrical ice chamber, with elliptical arched doorway. Short straight entrance passage with brick walls and barrel vault. Round arched doorway with plank door.
