Villa, now offices. c1810-1830. Brick with stucco facade and
slate roof. Double depth plan with central hallway.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basement, 3 first-floor windows.
First- and second-floor bands; frieze, cornice and blocking
course. Central entrance, steps to 6-panel door between
pilaster strips with side panels and fanlight with decorative
glazing; porch retains Ionic pilasters, C20 hood. Ground floor
has outer tripartite windows with 1/1 sashes in shallow
recesses with fan ornament in round-arched tympana. Otherwise
1/1 and 2/2 sashes.
INTERIOR: retains original plasterwork and joinery including
central open-well staircase with stick balusters and wreathed
handrail. Embellished cornices with acanthus and ceiling
friezes. Fluted doorcases with fleurons to corners, and
cornices. Panelled shutters to windows.
HISTORICAL NOTE: shown on Merrett's Map of 1834.
