2 houses, now hotel. c1820-50. Brick with stucco facade and
concealed roof with iron railings.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basement, 6 first-floor windows, with
2-storey entrance bay set back to right. Stucco embellishments
include: band above basement surmounted by pilasters to ends
and centre with Greek-key decoration; first-floor sill band
similarly surmounted by fluted Corinthian columns; cornice
above first floor similarly surmounted by pilasters; cornice
above second floor. First and second floors have 6/6 sashes
(those to first floor are taller); ground floor has 1/1
sashes; sills and plain reveals. Basement has 3/3 sashes.
Flights of steps to left and set-back right entrances,
part-glazed 4-panel doors with overlights. Right return has
blind openings.
INTERIOR: dogleg staircase to right part reputed to have stick
balusters to upper floors.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings to sides of steps have rod and
scrolled balusters.
