Terrace of 6 houses and attached forecourt railings to No.74
and with wall, piers and railings to No.80. c1820-50. Ashlar
facades with concealed roofs; cast- and wrought-iron railings,
gate and balconies.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basements, 18 first-floor windows (3
per house) and 2-storey porch set back to right return.
Rustication to ground floor, drawn into voussoirs over
openings, with continuous first-floor sill band. Cornices to
Nos 74 to 80, otherwise missing. Mainly 6/6 sashes (where
original), some 1/1 sashes; taller to ground floor. Basements
have 3/3 and 6/6 sashes. All in plain reveals, sills to ground
and second floors. Flights of steps to entrances (at left and
right): 3- and 6-fielded-panel doors with lattice frieze and
fanlights, some with decorative glazing; and similar to No.80
in porch to right return. Right return has blind openings.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: flattened lancet railings with urn
finials to sides of steps, and with forecourt railings to
No.74; No.80 has attached wall with octagonal piers with
shaped capping and finials, gate with fleurs-de-lys bars and
dog-bars and flattened lancet railings. Individual first-floor
balconies to Nos 70, 76 and 78: rod with flower motif and
lattice frieze; window guards to ground floor No.78; No.74
retains its boot scraper.
