Wall c1826-7; gates and gate piers 1736-1748, resited C20.
Rusticated ashlar piers with moulded capping and urn-finials.
Wide timber carriage gates and flanking pedestrian gates in
Chinese Chippendale design. Quadrant screen walls terminate in
further rusticated ashlar piers with moulded capping and
eagle-in-crown finials. Dry stone boundary walls approx 2m
high from Moorend Road, almost to Cudnall Bridge (qv).
The eagle gates and gate piers are shown on the Old Bath Road
in Robins's painting c1748; they were moved to the public road
on the east side of the house c1784, and to their present
position in 1940.
A significant streetscape feature, forming part of the setting
to Charlton Park (qv).
