II
Farmhouse. Early C17 south half, north half rebuilt late C17 and south part heightened. Timber frame clad with rendered wattle and daub and some clay lump; pantiled roof. Lobby-entrance plan.
EXTERIOR: east front of 2 storeys; 3-window range. All fenestration early C20. Central C20 sloping porch flanked by one 3-light casement either side. 2 3-light casements and one single-light first-floor casements. Ridge stack over door.
South return largely rebuilt in 1960s: glazed door to ground floor and one casement to first floor and attic. Stepped early C18 external stack.
West front with full-length C19 outshut fitted with 2 3-light and 2 one-light metal C20 casements. 2 plank doors.
North return with one metal casement in each floor.
INTERIOR: timber frame intact except for south wall. South room with chamfered bridging beam with tongue stops supported by chamfered principal studs; chamfered joists with run-out stops. Wide partly blocked fireplace under chamfered bressumer. Blocked arched opening in west wall, formerly an external doorway.
North room with wide fireplace under a chamfered bressumer. Chamfered bridging beam with barred tongue stops, and chamfered joists with run-out stops. Blocked 5-light mullioned window in west wall with glazing rebates.
C19 winder staircase to east of stack, and space west of stack marks original staircase site.
First-floor south room: complete set of early C17 floorboards. One pair of chamfered upper crucks supporting collar. Walls raised behind crucks to match height of later north half.
Staircase landing with 2 blocked mullioned windows in east wall.
North room with complete set of late C17 floorboards. Plain bridging beam; jowled corner studs. East window with internal shutter rebate.
Attic inaccessible.
