2 town houses, one small, one large. C18. Brick with string
courses and parapet, No.44 (right) with tall Plymouth
limestone ashlar plinth and render above; asbestos slate roof;
tall brick stacks over the back wall. U-shaped plan including
rear wings.
3 storeys; 1:4-window range. Segmental arches over original
12-pane hornless sashes with thick glazing bars to upper
floors of No.43 and C20 transomed window to ground floor,
otherwise late C19 horned sashes. Doorway to right of No.43
and doorway left of centre to No.44; glazed overlights and
panelled doors, No.43 with top panels later glazed.
INTERIOR: not inspected but may be of interest.
New Street contains a high proportion of fine C17 and C18
houses.
