Entrance gateway to Dock Office

GV II

Gateway to Dock Office (qv). c1925. By Fairhurst. Concrete.
Main arch with smaller pedestrian side gate to right,
adjoining Dock Office building. Flat arch across main gates,
with pylon each side, with blind incised and inlaid panels and
bowls reminiscent of ships' keels projecting from the plain
cornice band. Shallow segmental arch across side gate. The
gates themselves have been replaced with a late C20 screen.
