Statue. 1864. By Matthew Noble. Limestone. Statue of Prince
Albert on high pedestal raised on steps. The Prince is
represented in academic dress, and with a pile of books at his
feet. The statue is probably one of the first to be erected
following the death of Albert in 1861. It was originally sited
in Peel Park.
