Town house, or extension to town house; now integrated with
No.136 (qv) as hotel. Probably mid to later C18; altered.
Handmade red brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone plinth and
dressings, slate roof. Double-depth plan attached to
right-hand gable of No.136 and breaking forwards, with convex
corner to left. Georgian. 3 storeys and 4 windows; plinth of
massive stone blocks; doorway in left corner with renewed
joinery under a convex overlight with geometric panes, a plain
frieze and moulded cornice; tall doorway to 4th bay with plain
surround, C20 double doors and unusually tall 9-pane overlight
(or window), wedge lintel. Three 12-pane sashes at ground
floor and 4 on each floor above (those at 2nd floor shorter,
with square panes), all with raised sills and wedge lintels.
Altered chimney stack on centre of front slope; partly raised
coped gable to right. Rear altered. INTERIOR not inspected.
Forms group with No.136 (qv) adjoining to left, and with
No.134 (qv) linked to that.
