Monument to William Bardwell, architect, died 1853, and other
members of the family. Possibly by Bardwell. Brick, clad in
various materials.
Rectangular sarcophagus raised on square plinth. Plinth inset
with headstones of Bardwell family, marble panels and
miscellaneous runs of domestic architectural mouldings. Red
ceramic tiles spell out names and dates of those commemorated
in single band round monument. Corbelled capping to plinth,
which has ballflower decoration. Sarcophagus is enriched with
domestic architectural mouldings and has square corner columns
of marble with Composite capitals surmounted by crocketed and
cross-gabled finials.
