Farmhouse, cottage, smithy and stables, now 2 houses. Late
C18, extended C19, subdivided and altered C20. Painted coursed
millstone grit with ashlar dressings, stone slate roof and 4
stone stacks.
PLAN: original 3 unit house with services to rear, and
additions.
EXTERIOR: 2 storey. Street front of No.3 has regular 2 window
facade. Plinth. Central doorway with C20 door in ashlar
surround flanked by single 3-light flush mullion windows.
Above 2 similar 3-light windows. Blocked doorway to right and
beyond quoins mark extent of original building.
Street front of No.5 to right has irregular 3 window facade.
Off-centre doorway in ashlar surround with 3-light casement to
left and 2-light casement to right. Above 3-light casement,
and to right two 2-light casements. Extreme right section of
No.5 has stepped roof line and blank elevation.
Both houses have C20 diamond leaded panes in wooden casement
windows.
Left return has three C20 casements and single 2-light
casement above.
INTERIOR: No.5 has original squared stone fireplaces survive
and some original beams. The spine wall originally divided the
house longitudinally into 2 cottages.
