Railway viaduct carrying Settle to Carlisle railway line over
Dandry Mire. 1869-75, for the Midland Railway Company; company
architect JH Sanders, chief engineer JS Crossley, resident
engineer J Underwood. Coursed sandstone. Approx. 200m long,
running north-south and slightly curved. Twelve segmental
arches in 3 groups of 4, springing from rectangular piers with
broader pilastered piers between the groups and at each end.
Forms group with railway bridge approx. 200m north (qv).
