Farmhouse with attached barn; house now used as store and only
intermittently occupied. Probably earlier C18; altered.
Coursed sandstone rubble, the house white-washed; stone slate
roofs on 2 levels. T-plan formed by single-depth 2-unit main
range on east-west axis facing south, with short gabled wing
to rear, and barn continued at west end.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and 3 windows grouped 2:1; with a
square-headed doorway in the centre and a slightly lower
doorway to the right, the former with a rectangular lintel and
both with board doors; two 9-pane fixed windows on each floor
to the left, one on each floor with one opening pane in the
top right-hand corner, and one slightly smaller window on each
floor to the right, that at 1st floor with similar glazing
including an opening pane, and the other with altered glazing.
Large square chimney at left gable, lateral chimney at
right-hand gable. The barn to the left, a very long but
slightly lower range, with a 1-bay extension at the west end,
has 3 doorways with large lintels; small square windows next
to the doorways, one of them with an original unglazed 4-light
oak mullioned frame (some mullions damaged); and
through-stones and small square breathers to the upper level.
Rear: short gabled wing containing staircase has small blocked
window at ground floor; barn has loading doorway to loft and 2
other doorways to sheep-loft.
INTERIOR: housepart has C18 built-in cupboard with 2 doors and
shaped panels.
