gatepiers to east

GV II

Vicarage, now house. Early C19. Stone rubble and coursed
rubble with ashlar quoins, and roughcast render. Hipped and
gabled slate roof. Brick projecting and integral gable-end
stacks, 2 brick ridge stacks. Square plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. North front: three 6/6 sashes at first
floor with 8/8 sash and 6/6 sash below, all with keyed flat
stone lintels and stone sills. Central front entrance door
with open-bed pedimented canopy on plain pilasters with
6-panelled door and fanlight with radial glazing bars. East
return side: 2-window range of multi-pane casements at first
floor and PVC fenestration below. Rear to south: 2-storey,
3-window range of 6/6 sashes with 2 windows below. Lintels and
sills as before. Service wing of single-storey and attic
fitted with C20 windows projects to east.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: walls and gatepiers attached to east of
north wall forming service courtyard, connecting to boundary
wall extending 70 metres to north of house terminating in pair
of entrance gateways with 2 gatepiers. 3 further piers marking
splays of walls. Rubble stone walls with ashlar coping and
moulded brick copings to boundary walls. Coursed rubble
gatepiers with ashlar pyramid caps. Cast-iron framed, railed
and double cross-braced entrance gate.
