2 houses now one house incorporating No.4. c1583 with C17
extension. Timber-frame with painted brick infill on stone
rubble plinth with thatched roof. Stone stepped gable-end
stack with brick upper shaft, stepped brick chimney to rear.
3-unit framed range with framed extension bay to rear (north).
EXTERIOR: single storey and attic. Front to garden (south) has
3 bays with 2-light casement in west bay, 4-light casement in
central bay, C20 casements to right bay. 2 attic windows of
4-light casements under eyebrow eaves in thatch in central and
right bays. C20 door to left bay. Gable-end return to right:
end truss of straight tie beam with collar and twin vertical
struts. Square framing below with straight braces,
girding-beam, posts with middle rail, studs and sill-plate.
C19 2-light casement to right. Rear extension bay of square
framing 3 panels high on high plinth. Rear: square-framed part
masked by brick chimney, 2 C20 doors, and 2-light casement to
right. Flat-roofed dormer projecting through thatch. Rear
extension bay to left. Rear extension gable end shows truss
with cambered tie beam with altered apex now incorporating
2-light casement. Rectangular panelled framing at girding-beam
level with brick underbuilding below at gable end and on
return wall to right.
INTERIOR: single trenched purlin roof. End truss (west) of
twin struts and collar. Chamfered bridging beams with ogee
chamfers to east bay and plain bridging beams to central bay.
