Hotel. C19 remodelling of probable C17 core. Timber frame
fronted by painted render imitating patterned framing. Plain
tiled roof. Off-centre brick ridge stack. Plan of 4 framed
bays along the street and extensive rear wing.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey and attic. South front with five 2/2 C19
sashes at first-floor level. C19 pilastered open porch flanked
by projecting window bays, all projecting under first-floor
balcony with cast-iron railings. Covered carriageway on right
hand-side. 4 attic gables each with one 2/2 sash. Rear: C20
casement over carriageway to left, remainder covered by C20
painted render and brick gabled rear extension ranges.
INTERIOR: twin deep-chamfered lateral bridging beams with
stepped convex stops.
